Dr. Larry Sabato's Crystal Ball into the 2012 Elections

Taking aim at bridging the gap between the ivory tower and the real world of politics, Dr. Larry J. Sabato's slogan is, "Politics is a good thing!"

In July 2008, Dr. Sabato correctly projected Barack Obama's near-landslide victory. He predicted a 364-174 margin in the Electoral College, just one vote away from the final tally of 365-173, and he also forecast President Obama's exact 53% popular vote margin. Additionally, Dr. Sabato accurately predicted election results in 98% of the U.S. Senate, U.S. House and Governor contests in 2006, 2008, and 2010 -- by far the best showing in the business. Leading the field once again, Dr. Sabato was the first to forecast a solid Republican take-over of the U.S. House in the 2010 midterm election.

Dr. Sabato will now turn his crystal ball to the 2012 election, reflecting on how the race has developed thus far and will predict what is to come in the weeks leading up to the November general election.
